PLAY THE GAME
OUR FIRST FULLY PLAYABLE DEMO!
We did it! We have a fully playable demo of Can You Dig It?! Now you can play the game from start to finish in full.
One caveat: if you do collect all treasure, there's no end game mechanic. But since we haven't tested that far and most folks neither, it wasn't a priority ... until now. Next week we'll cross our i's and dot our t's in adding a quit game mechanic as well as a simple "congrats" message with a "Play Again" and "Quit" buttons.
Here you can see all the metals in one session and probabilities as well as the total worth behind the scenes.
A key ingredient to getting this game done quickly was to divide the total amount of treasure in-game to the number of
shares represented by all the items in the game. That means if you collected all the money in it, you'd be able to afford every
item in the store.
AI WITH DEEP THOUGHTS
One interesting bug happened during the use of AI. With Copilot from GitHub, auto-complete was helping us assign values to different metal detector tiers. It went past platinum, uranium, and antimatter all the way to The Almighty. Can you imagine a device that can point to the location of The One Above All?
PRICES FLUX
Here you can see a before and after. Prices fluctuate in-store depending on the total value of treasure. When an Iridium Detector is worth 89,000 credits, that means there's some serious treasure awaiting!
Here you can see the price of bags based on thier tier.
Shoes are the cheapest upgrades worth having. Once you hit a jackpot, these quickly become your go to for better hunting.
TASK TRACKER PRO HITS GOLD (BUT REALLY BETA)!
This week, Task Tracker finally hit Gold! But really, it's Beta. At the last minute we realized the dev cycle we were in didn't reflect the actual release. In theory, an Alpha phase in development is a Pre-Alpha release, a Beta in development is an Alpha release, etc.
We made changes to the way we create our phases going forward and it was a lesson learned.
BRAND NEW LOOK!
We also dropped borders for drop shadows, spaced each entry, and rounded the edges for each task. You'll notice more visual fidelity in the way each task will preview also. It's a pleasant change and we think you'll love it!
Another major update was Document Mode. You'll notice we've centered the paraphgraph elements, rounded the borders, and hazed the background a bit to make it look like a round sheet of paper on a table or like an index card. As a result, the UI feels a bit more natural and organic.
What remains for Task Tracker's Beta is to create a splash page for the front explaning what you can do. Register, log in, and try it yourself!

That's it for this week! Hope you try out the game and check out our list on Task Tracker Pro! To be continued....
