ALL UPGRADES AVAILABLE!

All Upgrades are now working and obtainable in the game. Thanks to the power of dictionaries and delegates, we were able to make all the upgrades work in a fraction of the time we thought it would take. All that's left is to improve detector upgrades beyond just one.

DETECTOR RANKS

The detector section of the store is left wanting, anemic, barebones, and so we will focus on these upgrades next week. There are so many directions we can go with this. For now we've come up with the following ideas:

PROPOSED DETECTOR UPGRADES

1. Ignore Junk (included)
2. Detect Valueable (anything from Aluminum and higher)
3. Detect Precious(anything from Copper and higher)
4. Detect Noble (anything from Gold and higher)
5. Detect Rare (anything from Iridium and higher)

You can try all upgrades in the game now. Bags, shovels, and shoes are all working. Feel free to try them out, in this screenshot you can see three of them listed and the player stats updated accordingly.

UPGRADE TABLE

Below are all the upgrade items available in the latest demo for your to try along with price, description, and perks. One of the neat things about this approach, using a dictionary for our treasure, is we can make more any time we want by simply adding an entry and updating values. This is why we've been able to accomplish so much in record time when it comes to our upgrades.

For reference, check out our blog from Week 21. Back then we thought it would take a week per section for every upgrade yet instead, we got it all done in a fraction of that time.

TASK TRACKER PRO HITS GOLD NEXT WEEK!

With a week remaining, we added a subtle drop shadow to the text body of description details in Task Tracker Pro. It looks more elegant along with centered text. There's a few items left but we're closing Beta soon and can't wait for you to try our latest.

It's hard to find testers for new apps. That's why any feedback you give is much appreciated. It was unexpected what a difficult task it can be to find folks willing to try out a new app even if they know it'll benefit them.

We also decided to explore themes as we develop apps and games past version 1.0. Each of them give a sense of identity to the project. Apple and Google follow these with OS updates resulting in easier to remember commemoration of what a project's season was about. With Can You Dig It, each version is named after a precious metal just like the ones you find in-game.

We based it on gemstones from Exodus 28:17-20. For Star Kingdom we're thinking of galactic scale names such as Moon, Terra, Star, Nebula, Galaxy, etc.
